The press is set up for runs most printers will not quote for. A zine, a parish paper, a match day programme. Anything between two hundred and ten thousand copies is an ordinary Tuesday here.

Newsprint is the point.

It is cheap, it takes ink almost instantly and it is meant to be folded into a pocket and thrown away at the end of the day. Nothing else reads like a newspaper.

Files by six, papers by nine.

Send a press ready PDF by six in the evening and the run comes off overnight. We check the pages, make the plates and print while the building is empty.

The flatbed in the back room still takes metal and wood type, so a cover, a masthead or a poster can be printed properly rather than imitated.
