01 · The first piece
Everything starts as one brick.
Two studs of plastic and a shape you already know by heart. On its own it does nothing at all. It is only ever worth what you are willing to put next to it.
02 · Shelter
Then you give it somewhere to belong.
A wall is nothing more than bricks that agreed on a direction. Put enough of them in a row and you have a room, a door, a roof, a reason to come back at the end of the day.
03 · Nerve
The same bricks will take you off the ground.
Nothing about the pieces changed. No new material, no better plastic. You simply stacked them with more nerve than the day before and pointed the whole thing up.
04 · Scale
One idea, repeated, becomes a skyline.
This is the part everyone wants. The sprawl, the lit windows, the thing that looks finished from a distance. Up close it is still a row of bricks, laid one at a time by someone who kept going.
05 · The break
And then it comes apart.
It always does. A knocked table, a change of plan, a market that moved while you were busy admiring the roof. The bricks do not mind. They were never the building.
06 · Again
So you build again.
Same bricks. Better hands. That is the whole trick, and it is the only one worth learning.
Studwork
We build the thing, break it on purpose, and build the better one.
A small studio working in bricks, film and real time. Models for launches, window displays, title sequences and sites like this one. Bring the idea early, while it is still easy to pull apart.
- Scene
- One room, one camera, six acts. Nothing cuts away and nothing is swapped in.
- Pieces
- The same pool of bricks carries every act. What a build does not need drifts in the dark until it is called back.
- Built with
- WebGL, instanced geometry and a single scroll driver. No video file, no frame sequence.
- Motion
- Reduced motion holds the scene still and lays the story out as a page.
