Safes, strongrooms and vault doors

The box is the cheap part.

Survey, delivery, anchoring and service for cash safes, deposit units and strongroom doors. Rated to what your insurer asks for, bolted to something that will hold it, and opened again when the combination leaves with the manager who set it.

The argument

You can buy a safe online for two hundred pounds.

You can, and it will arrive on a pallet and sit where the driver leaves it. An insurer asks two questions: what is it rated to hold, and what is it fixed to. A safe standing free on a floor answers neither, and a safe nobody surveyed for is usually the wrong size to get up the stairs anyway.

EN 1143-1, as insurers read it

A grade is a cash figure.

Eurograde is a tested resistance rating, and the trade quotes it as the cash an insurer will cover overnight. Valuables are conventionally rated at ten times the cash figure. These are the published ladder, not our numbers.

£6,000Eurograde 0cash, or £60,000 in valuables
£17,500Eurograde 2cash, or £175,000 in valuables
£60,000Eurograde 4cash, or £600,000 in valuables
£150,000Eurograde 6cash, or £1,500,000 in valuables

Most of the job is the floor.

SurveyWe measure the door, the stair, the turn on the landing, and what the floor is made of.
DeliverySixty kilos goes up on a barrow. A tonne wants a crane, and that is settled now, not on the day.
AnchoringBolts through the base into the slab on the maker's own pattern, or through to the joists.
Sign offYou set the combination. We leave the manual, the key registration and the installation record.
Drill the lock and a second bolt fires. Then it has to be cut.
Which is why a lockout is a phone call and not a crowbar

Tell us the floor, the room it is going in and roughly what it has to hold. If you already have a grade from your insurer, that answers most of it.
