Every species in the mix is British native and grown on our own ground, harvested and cleaned in the same shed.

Sown in autumn, up by May.

Scatter on bare soil, tread it in and leave it alone. No fertiliser, no topsoil, no watering.

One cut a year, in September.

After the seed has dropped, cut it low and rake the cuttings off. That is the whole of the maintenance.

Twelve mixes, one for your ground.

Chalk, clay, sand, shade or damp. Tell us what you have and we send the mix that suits it. Nine pounds covers twenty five square metres.

Seed, sand and nothing else.

Each mix is forty species by count, weighted so the grasses hold the sward and the flowers get the light.

How a meadow starts.

ChooseTell us the soil, the aspect and how wet it gets. We send the mix that suits it, not the one we have most of.
ClearStrip the turf or scarify until half the ground is bare earth. Seed on grass does not take.
SowFive grams a square metre, by hand, mixed with sand so you can see where you have been.
WaitGrasses in the first year, flowers in the second. Cut in September and rake the cuttings off.
