Your first workplace pension
Five short chapters for someone who has just been enrolled.
Independent Spatial Sites concept. Not commissioned or endorsed by Legal & General.
This is a concept direction: the idea, the audience and the design approach, written up before the demo is built. The picture above is a sketch of the layout, not a screenshot.
The interactive feature
Chapter journey with a saved place
Five chapters with a progress list. The browser remembers the last chapter read, so the journey can be finished in two sittings.
The concept
- What it addresses
- The welcome pack and enrolment letter a new starter receives, often their first contact with a pension.
- Who it is for
- New employees, many with no pension before, some reading in a second language.
- Their main task
- Understand what being enrolled means and what, if anything, to do in the first month.
- The next step it offers

- Editorial chapters with large numbers and photography of ordinary working days. One idea per screen.
- Copy approach
- Second person, short sentences, every term defined the first time it appears.

- Chapters are real headings with a contents list
- Reading level checked against a plain English target
- Saved place stored only in the browser, never sent
- No timed content
